Many elected officials are running hither and yon on "election year business," leaving the halls of Congress a bit empty.
Current "elected officials" promised voters in the last election that they would do a job, but we're getting along without them. How many of us would still be employed if we spent months "in absentia?"
The business of running America must be a well-oiled machine. "Lawmakers" miss committee meetings and votes on "important legislation," but America survives.
Is there a need to replace them? America appears to be running herself without the politicians currently "on the campaign trail."
