Dems caught between Obama and Health Care debacle
What a mess illogic yields when party comes first. It's not ethical for party to come first for ethics would define what is right is what one endorses. But of course ethics-being-what's-right rarely counts with Dems.

Summer's For Baptizing
Maine's lakes take their good ol' time getting warm in summer. Wade in and size-up gingerly the environs. Looks comfy from the shoreline but is cooool as you get under the water. That is, unless you're a bronzed pro who braves all to dive straight in from the dock.

Criminal Jesus? : 'They Hate Me. They Will Hate You Too!'
Jesus is hauled off of public property. There He is but a Baby in a manger setting. Yet He's flung across the lot into some warehouse or dumpster for His very presence is "offensive." So there go Mary and Joseph as well. And the angels to boot.

Troubled Times? Trust God
Do not try to understand what is going on when you have faith in God. "Lean not unto your own understanding but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths."

God's Strength is Real
There are those times. What does the Christian then do? Let Jesus smile upon your tears, healing you from top to toe. He will do just that for Jesus loves you more than you will ever know.

"In God We Trust"
During this election year in particular, even the believer may find himself out of his element. That is, he may find himself swept up in the talkathons so as to miss sight of God. That can happen. We're mortal, remember - spiritually flawed creatures.

America's True Patriotism is God-Based
Belief in the biblical God has brought to the country's fore the most committed citizenry known to the planet. It is that faith base that provides the oil for the nation's machinery. Generation after generation has willingly prayed for this nation, sacrificed for its existence, and treasured its freedoms.

Catholicism fading from American Scene
Priests' numbers are dwindling for a variety of reasons, one being that many young men don't buy into celibacy as a lifestyle any more. They see the biblical definition of marriage and sex in marriage as God's way for a man and woman.

Faith in Chariots Won't Work
Therefore, with all that's going on around us  -  a world caught in its own webs  -  the believer continues to look above it all into the face of God.

Those Muslims believe with that from the infidels they have reached a pinnacle of acceptance with Allah in the name of prophet Mohammed. Therefore, it is impossible to assimilate these Muslims in a free nation or tolerate them in a civil culture.

Silent Night - All is Bright
Yet the marvel happened before our eyes. Whereas, no one from the home had sung in any of the other carols, it was that as one they joined in with the hallowed hymn. Slowly but surely the minds came together, alert and touched by some spell from without.

Keeping That which Lasts
Take a walk through a nearby cemetery. Think of those who once lived-aches and pains, bills paid, celebrations, children born to them, bankruptcies, ecstasies, and then death. Scan one of those stones marked with a human's name on it from a previous century. Does anyone alive even know that that mortal laughed, struggled, then breathed her last?

Knowing God's Peace
Much of the so-called Christian endeavor is spent in movement. Ask Martha, she was one of the first movers--tea cups, sugar, creamer and cookies on the tray for Jesus and Mary. Don't forget the guest napkins. It all had to be "so."

Pilgrims, Thanksgiving and God
The Pilgrims had a spiritual impetus to what they did, where they went, and what they thought. It was not a political agenda that governed their futures. It was belief in God and His guidance that would propel them and their future generations into what God had planned for the new country.

Remembering a Friend at Thanksgiving
I recall driving up Douglas Mountain to an apple orchard. What a time we had in meeting the new young owners. Bill fell right in line to specify for them the history of their fresh environs. Then of course we drove off with some choice apples for eating along the way.

Thanksgiving can be traced back to Israel's beginnings. There are numerous Thanksgiving passages in the Old Testament alone. Hebrews thanked God by way of fasting and worship, praising Him together and then being faithful daily to His commandments.

As long as this Nazareth rabbi could simply meander about meadows with a few loose chums, He was all right. He could pontificate till His heart's content. He could even draw massive crowds who were into mass hypnosis. And fish and bread.

When the World Doesn't Think 'Christian'
The bottom line is that unless a human being is truly a Christian, he or she cannot think "Christian"--nor consistently act "Christian." Furthermore, non-Christians will not adopt consistent Christian values by which to live out their days.
