TV actor "Walker, Texas Ranger" Chuck Norris testified in his commencement address to Liberty University that one is wise if he lives for God.
"'I got sucked into the entertainment world of Hollywood,' he said. 'I didn't have that joy and that happiness that I thought I should have in my life.'
"That's when a friend introduced Norris to the woman he later married, Gena, who read to him from the Bible.
"'It's like the Holy Spirit hit me and said, "Chuck it's time to come home," he recalled. "I was hot for the Lord, and I still am to this day."'
"He told the graduating class to allow God to lead their lives per Christa Desbrets of newsadvance.com.
"'I hope that you'll let him direct your steps because if you do, you can't go wrong,' he said."
Norris advised his audience that living for God was the one and only course to earthly and eternal joy.
In an age of secularism and irreverence with youth turning their backs on the institution of marriage for "living together" and giving themselves to drugs and hedonism, it is refreshing to know that there are Christian learning centers throughout America that remain biblically sound.
The secular media does not give this witness to God its due. However, God knows His own. God honors His grace children. God promises to see them through every difficulty with heaven's victory.
Norris brought home to the next generation the old, old story of Jesus and His love, that which the Liberty University students have been hearing during their stay there. However, what was significant was that it was now coming from someone outside their academic community.
Norris has spoken truth. May the world hear that kind of divine revelation for it's the only hope for the wobbly planet.
