Ultimatum - One warning from the Prime Minister of Israel to the enemy population, in which he announces that Israel is about to attack military targets in their area and urges those who are not involved and do not wish to be harmed to leave immediately. Sinai is not far from Gaza and they can leave. This will be the limit of Israel's humanitarian efforts. Hamas may unconditionally surrender and prevent the attack.
Attack - Attack the entire 'target bank' throughout Gaza with the IDF's maximum force (and not a tiny fraction of it) with all the conventional means at its disposal. All the military and infrastructural targets will be attacked with no consideration for 'human shields' or 'environmental damage'. It is enough that we are hitting exact targets and that we gave them advance warning.
Elimination - The GSS and IDF will thoroughly eliminate all armed enemies from Gaza. The enemy population that is innocent of wrong-doing and separated itself from the armed terrorists will be treated in accordance with international law and will be allowed to leave. Israel will generously aid those who wish to leave.
According to polls, most of the Arabs in Gaza wish to leave. Those who were not involved in anti-Israel activity will be offered a generous international emigration package...
Bill Clinton: Hamas' "Crass Strategy" is to Kill Palestinians
Israel air, sea and artillery stated pounding the Gaza Strip on Thursday night, July 17. The IDF calls on the half million Gazans of southern towns of Khan Younes and Rafah to leave their homes for their own safety. Friday morning - The IDF exposes and destroys some 20 concealed rocket launchers, strikes nine tunnels, 21 smuggling tunnels are uncovered and hits 103 "terror targets."
"Beneath the Gaza Strip lies an underground Gaza, an offensive tunnel network that is almost entirely hidden on the surface and as elaborate as a labyrinth. Today IDF soldiers discovered 10 of these tunnels and over 20 points of access and it is merely the first day of the ground phase of the operation," the IDF statement said.
UN Returned Rockets to Hamas
Rockets discovered in a United Nations agency run school in Gaza were returned to Hamas. About 20 rockets were discovered on the premises of a vacant United Nations Relief and Works Agency school in Gaza during what the agency called a "regular inspection."
Gaza Terror Tunnel Attack Thwarted
IDF fires at 13 terrorists attempting to enter Israel through Gaza Strip tunnel early Thursday morning.
100 Rockets Since Ceasefire
Rockets continued to fall on Israel on Thursday both before and even after an agreed five-hour UN brokered humanitarian pause in fighting began at 10am, with over 100 rockets fired since the humanitarian halt in fire ended and before the beginning of the IDF's ground operation in the Strip.
Egypt Blames Hamas for Ground Offensive
The Egyptian foreign minister said that Hamas is at fault for the IDF's need to enter Gaza in a ground operation. "Had Hamas accepted the Egyptian proposal, it could have saved the lives of at least 40 Palestinians."
Mad Dogs are still Barking
Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan accused Israel on Saturday of having "surpassed Hitler in barbarism" through its attacks on Gaza. Meanwhile, Venezuela's socialist government condemned Israeli strikes in Gaza as a policy of genocide.
Food for Thought by Steven Shamrak
After WWII the Western countries successfully dealt with resettlement of 50 million refugees and economic recovery of Europe and Japan. With the recent rise of Islamist 'revolution' and insurgency in Libya, Syria and Iraq, the Western democracies need to let Arab and Muslim countries and their population to deal with their own mess that they created. (see "The War on Terror - the Containment Plan")
Islamic State Must be Expelled from NATO
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused Israel of a policy "based on lies" - "They are not honest... We cannot take the side of the cruel," Erdogan told supporters in Istanbul, noting that 100 Palestinians had now been killed while no lives had been lost in Israel... They say (Hamas) is firing rockets. But is there anybody who died?" he asked. "The number of Palestinians that you (Israel) killed is now 100. Their (Israel 's) life is based on lies."
- (Mad Islamic dog wants to see move Jews dead, and he is not happy about success of the Iron Dome and Israel's military superiority.)
As Israel Cabinet Procrastinates, Hamas Escalates Attacks
As the Israeli Cabinet failed to reach a decision about Gaza operation, Hamas launched its heaviest barrage of rockets in the current conflict to date at Gush Dan. Hamas claimed responsibility for sending M-75s at the region.
Hamas Rocket Strikes Electric Supply to Gaza
Hamas rocket hit the power line that supplies electricity to seventy thousand Gazans from Khan Younis and Deir el-Balah. It's not clear when Israel Electric Company workers will be able to repair the system. The PA currently owes the Israel Electric Company NIS 1.5 billion ($525 million) in unpaid bills for electricity.
- (Who will pay for repairs?)
UN: Most Gaza Casualties Were Warned by IDF
Even a United Nations document says that in most cases where residents of Gaza have been killed or injured during Israel 's ongoing campaign, the Israeli army alerted civilians ahead of time who were occupying buildings that they planned to bomb in Gaza, to leave the premises.
Anti-Semitic Behavior of Turkey
A Turkish daily affiliated with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called on the country's Jewish community to apologize for the Palestinian casualties of the Israeli operation in Gaza.
Leaving Iran with Nuke Enrichment 'Catastrophic'
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu warned Sunday that "It would be a disaster for the United States and for everyone else." A six-month interim deal with Iran expires July 20 and US Secretary of State John Kerry said "significant gaps" remain before a final deal can be reached. Netanyahu warned that "a bad deal is actually worse than no deal," defining that as one in which Iran would keep enriched nuclear material and the capability to further enrich uranium in return for monitoring by international inspectors.
- (Could it be that one motive for the Hamas attack on Israel is to divert attention from Iranian nuclear issue?)
Israel Praised by Muslim Cleric
The Mukhtar (Islamic religious leader) of the Jerusalem neighborhood of Sur Baher praised Israel for defending the city - and particularly the Al-Aqsa mosque on the Temple Mount - from Hamas rockets. Hamadan said that Hamas' seemingly careless firing of missiles endangered Muslim holy places, as well as Arabs, who live and work in all parts of the country.
Business as Usual
US strikes $11bn arms deal with Qatar - to provide Apache attack helicopters and air-defence systems thought to be biggest US arms deal this year. This is just months after a US official deplored Qatar's open support for Hamas, and covert funding for jihadists in Syria, including the al-Qaeda affiliate Al-Nusra and the al-Qaeda offshoot the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS).
- (Threat of Islamic incursion is good for US arm business!)
Delay is the Aim of the Nuclear Talks
Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has said that the nuclear talks may be extended beyond its July 20 deadline. He said that "serious differences" remained in nuclear talks with the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Russia and China, that the text of a draft accord on curbing Iran's nuclear programme in exchange for lifting sanctions had been improved significantly recently.
- (They have an "improved" draft already without resolving "serious differences"?)
Quote of the Week:
"When you put off the problem and you do not solve it, it will later explode. You cannot make peace with Hamas. They do not want order. They say - 'We want to erase the Zionist entity.' We do not want to be the neighborhood bully, but Hamas is already preparing for the next round and will in any event prepare more tunnels and missiles, just more long-range and perhaps more accurate. The next round is inevitable." - Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman
- Another ceasefire means more fighting in the future!
Friend in Need - Friend Indeed!
Prime Minister Stephen Harper issued a week ago the following statement in response to the situation in Israel:
"The indiscriminate rocket attacks from Gaza on Israel are terrorist acts, for which there is no justification. It is evident that Hamas is deliberately using human shields to further terror in the region."
"Failure by the international community to condemn these reprehensible actions would encourage these terrorists to continue their appalling actions. Canada calls on its allies and partners to recognize that these terrorist acts are unacceptable and that solidarity with Israel is the best way of stopping the conflict."
"Canada is unequivocally behind Israel. We support its right to defend itself, by itself, against these terror attacks..."
