Science Debunks itself.

I read today in 'The Australian' Newspaper an article about how one of our many 'missing links' that proves evolution, has now been discovered to be missing the link altogether.

Ida, the fossil hailed as ancestor of man, 'wasn't even a close relative' by Mark Henderson October 22, 2009

IT WAS billed as one of the most important fossil finds in history, a "missing link" that would challenge everything we knew about human evolution.

When Jorn Hurum, of the University of Oslo Natural History Museum, announced the discovery of the astonishingly well-preserved fossil, he described it as "the first link to all humans".

Dr Seiffert said: "The PR hype surrounding the Darwinius description was very confusing. The uninformed observer watching the associated documentary certainly must have come away with a very different view - specifically that Darwinius truly was a critically important link in the origin of higher primates, if not the origin of apes or even humans.

"Documentaries are extremely important for public understanding of science, so scientists and the media need to work together to make sure that they have their facts straight, and that they are portraying a balanced view of the evidence. I think that the most responsible approach would be to create documentaries well after publication of scientific results."

On it's own, this article would not have drawn much of my attention, except that just a few days ago I read an 'Apologetics Press' article about this very topic.

Ardi Joins a Long, Infamous List of Losers by Kyle Butt, M.A.

Every few months a media blitz raves about a new "half-and-half" creature that is unlike anything ever seen.

The troubling thing about this whole scenario is that no matter how many times creationists prove it to be false, and no matter how many times specific "creatures" like Piltdown Man, Lucy, or Ida are discredited, people continue to be shaken in their belief in the Bible by every "latest" find.

the entire concept of any life arising from non-living chemicals through random, evolutionary processes has been proven to be scientifically impossible (Thompson, 1989). Every legitimate experiment that has been done for the entirety of human history that has any bearing on the subject has shown that in the natural Universe, life comes only from previously existing life of its own kind. No research team has ever found an evolutionary link between humans and lower animals for the simple, yet profound reason, that evolution is impossible and humans could not evolve from lower life forms. Furthermore, specific human traits, such as consciousness, sexual reproduction, varying blood types, spoken language, and the complexity of the human brain, pose insurmountable barriers to the false theory of human evolution (see Harrub and Thompson, 2003).

Science is supposed to be Science - the search for Truth. Infortunately today, it has degenerated into nothing more than media hype.

You may believe what you will, (evolution or creation), but before you spout it off, you had better get your facts right lest you find that you are descended from neither Adam nor a monkey, but from an ass!
