The Robinson Ballet Presents: Romance and Fire
By Robinson Ballet
Mar 18, 2015 - 10:21:25 PM

The Robinson Ballet is proud to bring Romance and Fire featuring Kantikos Agonias, the story of "Medea," to the Brewer Performing Arts Center on April 11th at 7pm and April 12th at 3pm.

You don't want to miss out on this evening of dance that will take you around the world from ancient Greek times to the busy city life.

Kantikos Agonias (Song of Agony) was created and premiered by the Robinson Ballet back in 2005. This was choreographed by Artistic Director, Keith Robinson and restaged by Maureen Robinson. Kantikos Agonias is based on the Greek tragedy "Medea" written by Euripides. Relationships are tested and jealousy turns into vengeance as life will be forever changed for the people of the Greek world.

Odin's Ravens is based on the Norse tale of two ravens that fly all over the world and bring information to the God Odin. With the music of Sigur Ros along with Brooklyn Rider and Steve Reich this fast paced dance will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Papillion, choreographed by Terry Lacy, will leave you suspended with aerial hanging fabric as the center of it all.

The City is inspired by Robert Montogomery's poem The City is Wilder Than you Think and choreographed by Stevie McGary. The City will give you an insight into what the modern dance world can be like for some.
