KENNEBUNK - Intrepid Productions LLC of Kennebunk, Maine, announces the premier show of its "Intrepid Traveler featuring Bruce McToose -" series to air on WPME-TV (Channel 3) on Saturday, March 29 at 10:30 P.M.
Featured in the first episode will be a visit by the wayward tour guide, Bruce McToose, to the town of Norway, Maine. In each show Bruce McToose travels with a television crew to one of the towns in Maine that share a name with a well known foreign city or country. Places like Paris, China, Mexico, Naples and Moscow, among others, will be featured in each show.

Steve Hrehovcik, producer of the series says, "In his innocent yet comical way, Bruce McToose reveals some of the fascinating facts and background of these historic locations that often get overlooked. All the time Bruce believes he is in the other Norway, on a quest to find those picturesque fjords, or in China, looking for the Great Wall, or in Paris hoping to climb the Eiffel Tower, or Egypt...isn't there supposed to be a pyramid around somewhere?"

Hrehovcik says, "It's all in good fun and an excellent opportunity to promote places in Maine with a refreshing and innovative approach. One of the most exciting parts of the doing this series is I'll be working with my son Josh, who portrays Bruce McToose."

The father-son team bring together an idea that had a beginning fifteen years ago. Back then, Josh found an Aussie hat, put it on and was inspired to create Bruce McToose, the intrepid traveler. They revived Bruce's character a few months ago when the idea for a travel series with humor took shape.

Both Hrehovciks presented the series concept to Doug Finck, Station Manager of WPME-TV. Finck agreed that a travel series with the innovative approach of humor and wit would compliment his local programming scheduled for Saturday nights.

While Steve Hrehovcik has extensive experience in professional theater and television this is his first opportunity to produce a television series.

Hrehovcik says, "Creating the series with the misguided character Bruce McToose has been exciting and fun. I believe that once audiences discover his naïve and light-hearted misinterpretation of geography they will look forward to his ongoing trips to Maine towns. Bruce has a delightful ability to connect with the local people he meets. Adding to the entertainment value of the series is his unintentional discovery of the many fascinating facts of the "foreign" locations he visits."

Hrehovcik says, "I'm also pleased to have Mike Davis on our team. He is owner of Gargoyle Productions of Maine and will be directing each show. In addition Mike will be doing cinematography and editing."

"While there are many quality shows dealing with travel," says Hrehovcik, "This is the first time Maine towns with foreign connections will be featured on a television series. We invite viewers to tune in and travel to the great places around the world - right here in Maine."
