BANGOR -- The fifth show in the Eastern Maine Community College 2007/2008 Art Exhibit Series featuring Barbara Brady's work is on display in the EMCC Library Gallery from May 1 through June 30, 2008. A reception for Brady's show, "Elements of Nature," will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm during which Brady will give a presentation on her artwork. The public is invited to attend.

Reflecting the exquisite imagery of environments in oil is the root of Brady's work. Brady's paintings, which capture simple gestures of color from nature to unique characteristics full of movement and energy, are powerful creations of scale, strength and temperament. Describing her work as "an expression," Brady begins her work by "tapping" into these mental and emotional images each time she approaches the canvas.

Brady is a graduate from Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She has been an artist-in-residency in Italy and Ireland. Her artwork has been featured in numerous galleries throughout the United States since the early 1980s. Barbara Brady resides in Sedgwick, Maine.
