A conflict of interest by M J Greene and A Good Inheritance by Daughtry Miller represent the Present and the Past history of Americans in war zones.

The two books shown in this photo appeared in our regular Book Basket articles and represent two different time periods and wars and yet essentially the same moral questions.

A conflict of Interest by M.J. Greene was featured in the February 9th Book Basket.

In her book "A Conflict of Interest," Greene provides a candid look at the life of a female subcontractor working for a corrupt organization in Afghanistan. Tasked with daily duties that jeopardized her safety and freedom, Greene aims to empower other women to stand up for themselves and each other by trusting their intuition to fight for the truth.

A Good Inheritance by Daughtry Miller was featured in the February 16 Book Basket.

Miller, a retired history professor, saw the perfect opportunity to match his knowledge of the South to his family history. Between the two, he created a story with a strong family legacy. "I was aware of my great-grandfather's service and had a long-standing desire to try my hand at writing fiction; this was my way to commemorate my family's legacy," Miller said.
