BANGOR -- The Challenger Learning Center of Maine's application for forming a team to participate in the 2009 Team America Rocketry Challenge has been accepted.
The first meeting of the CLC Rocketry Team will be held on Saturday, January 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
There is still space on the team, and students from grades 7-12 are invited to join. Interested persons are asked to call 990-2900, extension 3 or email jtherrien@clcofme.org. All participants are asked to contribute at least one rocket kit, but otherwise there is no fee to join the team.
About the 2009 Team America Rocketry Challenge
This event is an annual nationwide rocketry-based aerospace design and flying challenge competition for student teams of 7-12th graders. The top one hundred teams nationally will compete in a face-to-face fly-off, which is to be held in late May at The Plains, Virginia near Washington, D.C.
