My feelings were hurt Thursday night, when Councilor Matt Polstein announced that fellow Councilor David Cyr had been meeting, every Monday night, with a group of citizens to plan his demise.
It's not that I wanted to be a part of planning anyone's demise, necessarily, but it's never fun to be totally left out of such things.
What really hurts is the deception. While David and I have had our disagreements, I voted for him and have generally been supportive of his efforts to improve the economic outlook for the town of Millinocket. Yet, if Councilor Polstein is correct, I have not only been left in the dark about a conspiracy to plan his demise (and we all know how I enjoy conspiracies), but Councilor Cyr has been lying to me about what he does with his Monday evenings.
After all, I had been led to believe that he has been attending board meetings for Katahdin Area Television on Monday nights, and apparently the folks at KAT have been covering for him, too. Or could they be the group that Councilor Polstein was talking about? The plot thickens.
You just can't tell about some people.
