Ten Bucks Theatre Company invites you to audition for two classic American plays:

The Crucible
By Arthur Miller
&
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
By Edward Albee

WHERE:
Eddington/Clifton Civic Center (Comins Hall) located at 1387 Main Road Eddington, ME (10 miles from Brewer on Rt. 9)

WHEN:
Sep. 4 & 5 from 2PM to 5PM

NEEDED: 1 prepared dramatic monologue to perform.

THE CRUCIBLE will be produced as a dramatic play reading needing 10 men and 10 women (including one African American actress) ranging in age from 12 to 80. Winner of the 1953 Tony Award for Best Play,  this exciting drama about the Puritan purge of witchcraft in old Salem is both a gripping historical play and a timely parable of our contemporary society. The Crucible will be performed at Harmony Hall in Hampden Oct. 9 at 7PM and Oct. 10 at 2PM.

WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? involves 2 married couples (one in their 30s, the other in their 50s). Winner of the 1963 Tony Award for Best Play, the Broadway production of this play was a shattering and memorable experience and proclaimed the author as a major American playwright. George, a professor at a small college, and his wife, Martha, have just returned home, drunk from a Saturday night party. Martha announces, amidst general profanity, that she has invited a young couple--an opportunistic new professor at the college and his shatteringly naive new bride--to stop by for a nightcap. When they arrive the charade begins. Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf will be performed at the Eddington/Clifton Civic Center Oct. 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23 at 7PM and Oct. 17 and 24 at 2PM.
