Spring Turkey Hunt Winner Announced

The winner is Tyler Holliday of Livermore, Maine.

Registered Maine Guide, Everett Leonard will take Tyler, anytime during the month of May, on a guided Turkey Hunt.

Everett and Tyler Leonard also took out Travis Berry 12 years old, of Turner; and Blaine Arsenault, 11 years old of Greene on May 1st youth day, and each shot a Tom.

Travis shot a Tom at 21lbs 10 1/2 inch beard 1 1/4 inch spurs, Blaine shot a Tom at 18 lbs 9 inch beard, 3/4 inch spurs.

The Legion Rider Chapter 111 teaches basic knowledge skills and attitudes necessary to pursue special interests in safety, personal protection, recreation and competitive shooting and hunting. The Legion Rider Chapter 111 also donated several thousand dollars of vegetables seeds in May promoting its Gardening and Landscape program.

Currently there are Rider Chapters in Auburn, Bath, Caribou, Corinna, Damariscotta, Farmington, Madawaska, Madison, Mechanic Falls, Minot Poland, Millinocket, Oxford, Richmond, Rockland, Rumford, Topsham, Turner Winthrop and York.

Deanna Trudeau, Americanism Officer for the American Legion Riders Chapter 111 picked the winner of the 2009 Spring Turkey Hunt at the April 28th monthly meeting.
