I have published a few photographs of the Surf side of Bribie Island but today's photographs relate to some of the wildlife that can be seen there. Most of these photographs were lifted from videos I took on Tuesday September 7th. Since this is not an article 'per se' I've only included photos of the Osprey and the Dolphins/Porpoises
This Osprey was hovering over a fisherman's catch, and came quite close to all of us. Osprey's are quite beautiful.
These images were all lifted from videos I took. The last photo shows just how close to the sand they were. At the closest point, I was but 3 or 4 metres from the dolphins. One, the one in the first photo, almost beached itself and had to get into deeper water.
The following photo puts into perspective where the dolphins were in relation to the shore.
Here is a photograph taken of a 'Wobbegong' shark. Someone fishing on the beach has caught it and left it to die.
Bribie Island is home to a variety of wildlife including a variety of small and large birds including the occasional sighting of Emu and Dingos. Yesterday I even saw a snake but I was unable to get a good shot of it. The snake was venomous of course [don't bother to disagree with me - all snakes are venomous as far as I am concerned]. This particular snake was very long and thick and brownish green in color with a lighter yellow belly. I was very close to it. In fact I could have reached out with my foot and kicked it. I would really have liked to have taken a photo of it, but I found it very difficult to sling my camera over my shoulder and line up the shot while at the same time scream and run in the opposite direction.
