Messiah or AntiChrist

In January 2013, the cover of Newsweek has an interesting title. It says The Second Coming: America expects; can he deliver. The pope of the Catholic Church has released a statement that says, "You ask me if the God of the Christians forgives those who don't believe and who don't seek the faith. I start by saying -- and this is the fundamental thing -- that God's mercy has no limits if you go to him with a sincere and contrite heart. The issue for those who do not believe in God is to obey their conscience." It is alarming to have these statements even raised to begin with.

The Bible is full of prophesy to prepare us for the end times. That makes it somewhat puzzling as to how the pope can be so lost on what is needed to be saved. There is a type of "witnessing" called the Roman Road. In the book of Romans there are a set of scriptures scattered throughout the short book that can lead one to the opportunity of accepting Christ as their personal savior. Of course, no one can make anyone a Christian, but once the Holy Spirit has the opportunity and the individual has an open heart to the opportunity then Christ will do the rest.

The first scripture is Romans 3:23 which says "...all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." This means no one is perfect. All have sinned. It doesn't matter how small or great, no one can come face to face with God because of our sin. The next one is Romans 6:23 which states "...the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." This is very important, because it addresses the fact that everyone deserves death. The eternal death in hell which is not exactly going to be what everyone jokes about. On the contrary, it will be seven times hotter than any fire imaginable to man.

In Romans 5:8 it says "...But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." This means that while we are still sinners the blood of Christ can saves us if we allow God to do his miracle in us. Then finally in Romans 10:9 -- 10 it says "...That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." This means that if you speak what you believe then you will be saved.

The point of all this is in two parts. The first part is to point the way to salvation. The Roman Road to salvation if you will. The second part of this point is the fact that all church officials should and most likely do know this. It is obvious in this that more than a good conscience is needed to enter heaven. That being the case then how can the Pope be so far off the mark? This is a very disturbing fact of history.

Just as disturbing is having a world leader, our very own president of the United States allowing any part of the population to believe he is in anyway the next messiah. First of all, there will be no next messiah. There is only one messiah and that is Jesus Christ our Lord and savior. He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one can come to the Father except by him. How then can anyone, even our president be even remotely compared to our Lord and savior?

Our world is entering a new and possibly final stage of time that will lead us to the true second coming of Christ. It will not be our president. The Bible tells us in many different ways and in many different books that the end will be led by a character referred to as the Antichrist. He will have a second character provide aid to him called the beast.

So what is the Antichrist? This is a person or group of people that outright hate Jesus Christ. They are out to defeat him in every way in every opportunity. The leader of the Antichrist is Lucifer that is Satan, or the devil. He and his fallen angels are out to do all they can to overcome Jesus. They will fail.

The beast is a creature that Satan will use to make himself look more powerful and mightier than Jesus. Again, this will fail. Together they will gather an army to battle God in the very end. That will be the final battle and the end of the world. Books and many movies have been made about this moment. It has been a topic of discussion and more for centuries. It is just a matter of time before it happens for real.

Here is the question. If there are now not just one, but two world leaders seemingly completely unrelated to each other in office or by blood are making decisions that affect the salvation of millions of people making it possible for Satan to have some success in defeating God. The sad truth is all those who fail to accept Jesus Christ as their personal savior will end up in the lake of fire with Satan and the beast.

The lake of fire, that is hell, is the final destination for Satan and the beast and all who deny Jesus as the Christ. No one can overcome God. In James 4:7 it says that if we submit ourselves to God and then resist the devil he will flee from us. There is a reason this is true. Satan knows the truth about God. Satan knows that God does exist and he fears God. He trembles at the very name of Jesus Christ, because he knows that Jesus defeated death and sin when he was crucified on the cross over two thousand years ago for all people for all time. Who will you choose?

Control Freak: Take Responsibility for Your Own Life (Part 1 of 2)

There have been so many reports of people who lost health insurance while trying to apply as law-abiding citizens. Many were given Medicaid when they were not applying for it. Some had rates rise far greater than they could ever afford to pay. The most concerning is the idea that once given the information the program can be hacked by professional hackers and all your information is now in the hands of people who are less than honest. It is hard to know who is in control.

It has been proven over and over that two objects cannot occupy the same space at the same time. Think about car accidents: it seems drivers are always trying to prove this theory false. Sometimes the result of testing this theory is very traumatic and sometimes it's almost comical. Sadly, too many times it ends tragically.

After putting his books back in his locker, Mark found his way to the exit doors where Jeff and Matt were waiting for him. They walked quietly from school to Jeff's house. It was good to feel the warmth of the sun on them this unusually warm fall day. The color of the leaves was growing bright. This made it more enjoyable to all of them as they walked through the historic small town.
