BELFAST, MAINE -- A writers' conference will held by the Maine Fellowship of Christian Writers on August 8, at First Baptist Church in Belfast. The theme is Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth.
The all-day event will feature workshops, small group sessions by genre, and an opportunity for attendees to read from their work. Cost is $30 if pre-registered, or $40 at the door. Partial scholarships are available, and will be granted on the basis of an essay.

Workshops will include "What Does an Editor Do, Anyway? (And Why Do I Need One?)" by Genie Dailey of Fine Points Editorial Services, in Jefferson. Dailey will also offer professional critiques during the conference.
Award-winning novelist Susan Page Davis of Clinton, author of more than twenty historical and romantic suspense novels, will teach "Creating 3-D Characters." Elin Lee of Lancaster, Mass., an award-winning writer and editor, will present "Oh, Dear!—Fiction of Non-Fiction?"
Beth Rogers of Bangor, author of two published books, will teach "In the Beginning," a workshop to get the creative juices flowing. Vicki Reynolds Schad of Vassalboro, author of several nonfiction books, articles, and devotionals, will present "Nonfiction—Inception to Completion."
