How many Americans truly want freedom? How many Americans want to be controlled and protected by the rich and the powerful? How many Americans really feel they can control their own destiny and their own daily lives?
Lets take these questions one at a time and see what we can come up with.
It seems today the American people are fairly equally divided into three distinct groups. We have the people who believe in being led by the Republican Party leaders. Who are the Republican Party leaders? To find out, let's first look at the three branches of government. The Presidency, when under Republican control, is invariably held by a scion of a rich and powerful family. The presidency is sometimes passed down from one family member to another. Let us look at the Congress. Both houses of congress are controlled by people who are millionaires or billionaires. The same holds true for the Supreme Court. If they are not millionaires when they are appointed, they become so very shortly after. These people consist of about one third of our population.
When we look at the Democrats, we find exactly the same thing. We find a party that is controlled by group of millionaires and billionaires. The few who are not rich when elected are led by the rich. If they play ball, they become rich, and if they do not play ball they are often not reelected. Families such as the Rockefellers and the Kennedys are the largest players in the Democratic Party. These people make up about another third of our population.
When we look at the third group, who claim to be independent of the first two groups, we find much division. We find some who are closet Republicans and who will always vote the Republican ticket; and we then find those who are closet Democrats and will always vote the Democratic ticket. These people claim to be independent, but they will always fear the ascendency of the other party. We are left with a small group of Americans who believe in themselves, and honestly believe that they are capable of supporting themselves without control of big government and without being led by the rich and the mighty. The remains of this third group are people who truly desire the freedom to control their own lives, But this group is small, and also divided into a number of third party groups that belive in basically the same things but, because they are unable to join forces, the rich play them against one other.
As you look at the American people as a whole, they seem to want to be controlled by the rich and the mighty. They seem to want a royal family to look to for support, protection and guidance. These people seem to want their lives controlled from cradle to grave. They appear willing to send their sons and daughters to die for the protection of thes royal family fortunes, in order that they might continue to recieve this protection and guidance.
Will Americans ever again know the freedoms left to us by our founding fathers?
It is extremely doubtful. As Americans, we will get the kind of government we deserve. We will get the kind of goverrnment we vote for. We will also get the governmental domination, protection and guidance the American people seem to want and seems to need.
