Do We Want More of the Same?

Many Americans are cheering for the defeat of George Bush and a victory for John Kerry, little knowing that it will make little difference who the winner is, they will see very small changes in the federal government's agenda.

Let's look at both men and see what they say and what they will do. Kerry voted for the Iraq war as asked for by Bush. This was a war that was apparently based on lies and or very poor intelligence that was misinterpreted on purpose or accidently. Now it is said that there were no weapons, there was no threat, there was no 9-11 connection, and we now have an unwinnable guerilla war to fight. Kerry has said he will send 40,000 more troops into this mess and that he supports this war that has been declared illegal.

Kerry voted for the Patriot Act, as asked for by Bush, without even reading what he was voting for. Kerry has said he will go along with all provisions of the Patriot Act instead of repealing this unconstititional, un-American piece of legislation. Parts of this onerous legislation has been struck down by the federal courts, but both of these men have said they will work to add to it and it will create even more of a police state.

Some of the differences they do claim are moral issues that will be determined by the supreme Court, not by the White House. In spite of having five conservative presidents in the White House, what has changed? Roe vs Wade? The death penalty? Gay rights? Our national debt is getting smaller? Our industry, our economy, Our trade balance, our job security is getting better?

Nothing has and nothing will change until we change the one party system we have in this country today. We have two known internationalists running for the presidency of our country and they have the same agenda. Neither one can, or will defend this nation from terrorism. They both promise you the world with a ring around it, knowing they cannot and will not keep their promises.

Kerry says he will deliver us from this mess Bush and the neo-cons have gotten us into by following the same path. Does this make common sense to you?

As long as the "republicrats" are in power we will have more of the same. I believe it is time we go back to a two or three party system. We do have other names on the ballot we can vote for. We will have Peroutka on the Constutution Party. We will have Badnarick of the Libertarian Party. We have Nader of the Green Party. We have Rittenhouse of the Independent Party and list goes on. If we keep voting for what we have got, we will keep getting what we have gotten.
