A New AWB Proposal?

Democrat Senators Pamela Hatch of Skowhegan and Stephen Stanley of Medway, Maine have come up with their own idea of good gun control. Of course, it completely ignores the Constitution of the State of Maine, [Every citizen has a right to keep and bear arms and this right shall never be questioned]. It also completely ignores Title 25 Part 5 Chapter 252-A State pre-emption. 1. The State intends to occupy and preempt the entire field of legislation concerning the regulation of  firearms, components, ammunition and supplies.

These two enterprising legislators propose that, for the purpose of controlling Assault Weapons [also known as semi- automatic rifles], several hundred municipalities in the State of Maine write their own assault weapons bans. Can anyone imagine the chaos and confusion this would cause throughout the state? If you lived in a town that allowed these semi-automatics, what towns could you safely drive through? What towns could you safely hunt in?

The unorganized townships are controlled by LURC. Would LURC be the ones to control the weapons used in these townships. Would LURC have control of what kind of gun you hunted with in these townships?

Senator Stanley is running against Senator Paul Davis for the Senate seat in November. Does he really believe that this is the sign of intelligence and legislative ability that he must show to beat Senator Davis? I would like to see Senators Davis's answer to this kind of legislative silliness. I really believe these two tired people should go to bed, get a good nights rest and get up on the other side in the morning, well rested, leaving this foolishness behind them.

Reading this bright idea, I will vote for Senator Davis and common sense.
