Breaking Point was one of the best murder mysteries I've read for a long time. C.J. Box, the author, has won several awards, and his books have been translated into 25 languages.
This 2014 book, Breaking Point, is the 13th book in a series of 13 Joe Pickett stories, Picket, a game warden, being the lead character.

Two Environmental Protection Agency personnel have been murdered, and authorities are looking for Butch Roberson as the killer, although he is not. Roberson is a friend of Pickett, who seeks him out to help him.

Pickett does help Roberson, who had said he was looking for elk in the mountains, and to shorten things up a whole lot, the story ends happily ever after following great outdoor adventure. The adventure not only includes the outdoors but a sharpshooter, who shoots the wrong person, and a host of federal employees. charges $9.99 for both the paperback and Kindle Edition.

Box has written novels and short stories, including 15 about Joe Pickett. Box resides near Cheyenne, WY, of which state he is a native. He is a graduate of the University of Denver. He writes about the West, the country in which he was raised. In addition to the Joe Pickett series, Box has written a number of other novels, according to Wikipedia.

Breaking Point was published in 2013 by G.P Putnam's sons, New York.

If you're looking for great outdoor armchair adventure, grab this one.
