For Alert, though, Patterson had help, Michael Ledwidge, who coauthored the Michael Bennet series The Narrowback and Before the Devil Knows You're Dead with James Patterson.
Without giving away the plot, which isn't all that important anyway since all murder mysteries have bad guys, crime, good guys, humor, and other stuff thrown in to keep it interesting, this one had fast writing with no typos. (I generally find typos in self-published works of wonder.)
Alert wasn't self published. It was copyrighted in 2015 by James Patterson, Little Brown and Company, also 2015, New York, NY.
It was the kind of mystery that holds my attention, especially since after while I stop looking for typos. Or I could describe this one as "riveting," which I'm fairly sure means the same thing as "holds my attention."
Amazon.com prices the hardcover, which is what I found at the library, at $16.80 with the Kindle Edition at $14.99, and other used and new choices at $7.86.
So, if you'd like to try Alert, buy it or go to your library and pick up the hardcover version.
"James Patterson (born March 22, 1947) is an American author. He is largely known for his novels about fictional psychologist Alex Cross, the protagonist of the Alex Cross series. Patterson also wrote the Michael Bennett, Women's Murder Club, Maximum Ride, Daniel X, and the Witch and Wizard series. He also penned many stand-alone thrillers, non-fiction and romance novels. His books have sold more than 300 million copies and he holds the Guinness World Record for being the first person to sell 1 million e-books," from Wikipedia.
"His novels have sold more copies than those of Stephen King, John Grisham, and Dan Brown combined. His books have sold approximately 305 million copies worldwide," also from Wikipedia.
If you're like I am, you may glance at several of his titles, but unless you find one you've already read, they're all good. Just grab one.
