"AMISH SCRAMBLED EGGS with HUMOR" is a charming collection of short stories written by an innkeeper from the "Amish" hills of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
The publicity materials states that the author took the time to write the book to showcase a culture that is rarely discussed and often misunderstood and that his stories are entirely true. It credits the author with stating:
- "Television and reality shows regarding the Amish portray their culture inaccurately. They're hardworking, but they're also the friendliest and most sincere people you'll ever meet."
As I proceeded through the stories, it soon becomes apparent that Joseph "Chool" Crawshaw has found his "neich" in the way he relates his often humorous experiences with his guests.
He writes of he and his wife's interactions with "new" customers to their country inn and how he cherishes the return of "old" customers. "Chool" tells tales related to him by his guests and he writes them with dignity and humor. The stories in this book are written "from the heart" and will make a great gift.
Would I recommend this book to others? YES
