Let Lucky Lily Help You Express Your Gratitude This Spring

Spring time is here already. Time is moving fast. I wrote Lily's Little Life Lessons book one and two last March. The books were not completed in time for Mother's Day and Father's Day 2011, but they are available now. When I wrote them, I envisioned the books as the perfect Mother's Day and Father's Day gifts. A wife can give book one to her husband, as a way of letting him know that she is grateful for what a loving father he is to their child. A daughter can give book two to her mother, as a way of saying thank you for being such a wonderful grandmother. Since the themes of the books are feeling lucky and grateful; I want to remind you that there is no better time than these bright spring days to find your lucky.

Once you identify what and or who makes you feel lucky, remember to express it. Tell people how you feel about them. Sometimes if you can't find the words, your own words, giving a book is a way to let someone know how you are feeling inside. I am sure the recipient of your gratitude will appreciate it from the bottom of his or her heart. Happy spring!

Because of You: A Thank You Note from a Daughter to Her Mother

By: Rebecca Perlman Coniglio, LCSW

Author of Lily's Little Life Lessons

Because you loved me, I can love her.
Because you cared for me, I can take care of her.
Because you taught me, I can teach her.
Because you listened to me, I can listen to her.
Because you helped me, I can help her.
Because you sacrificed for me, I can make sacrifices for her.
Because you have been generous to me, I can be generous to her.
Because you have always thought of me, I always think of her.
Because you never let me down, I will try not to disappoint her.
Because you are my biggest fan, I am her cheerleader.
Because you showed me the way, I will be her guide.
Because you remind me that time moves quickly, I will slow down and play with her.
Because of you, I am me.

Rebecca Perlman Coniglio is a social worker in private practice and works with children and adolescents. Lily's Little Life Lessons book one and two are available on Barnesandnoble.com, Amazon.com, and Mascotbooks.com.
