I found 'Confessions of Five Christian Wives' by Shauna Mayer and her friends, to be an excellent Christian book detailing with refreshing honesty the lives of five entirely different women. The book was written in an interesting, easy-to-read style and was sufficiently captivating to cause me to attempt to read it in only two days.

Because the writers are telling their own life stories, they draw the reader into an intimate relationship with them, whereby the reader becomes a close observer of the day by day events that make up life, as experienced by the writer and her family. Much detail and many interesting events are included, along with the writer's reactions and responses to these events.

Many of the difficulties faced by the writers are the types of problems that would be encountered by a wide variety of readers. The authors demonstrate convincingly the hand of God at work in all areas of their lives, especially in the more dramatic and challenging scenarios.

I found this book to be captivating, uplifting and inspiring and to grant a realistic insight into the difficulties experienced by these women as they endeavour to overcome various adversities they face and as they allow the Holy Spirit to use these very adversities to bring about Christlikeness in their lives.

Considerable mention is also made of the affects of the issues faced upon the lives of other family members, especially the children involved.

The book covers issues that are relevant currently and is appealing in its content as well as being attractive in its layout, easy to read and engaging. As such, I would highly recommend 'Confessions of Five Christian Housewives,' particularly to those seeking an interesting, God- honoring, autobiographical, yet challenging read. This book is written in an honest, open, very readable fashion and I believe it is good value for its reasonable price. I enjoyed it very much.
