In over our heads? Thatís an understatement. The entire Middle East is in a mess. Now, for the first time in a long time, the President has decided to sit back, throw the Secretary of State into the crosshairs, and hope for some kind of action. What? No troops? this is amazing.
The fact of the matter is that he, and being the only one I might add is supporting Israelís actions of bombing Lebanon in hopes of some kind of deactivation of Hezzbolah. However, with the group also holding political chairs in the area, how will a few bullets stop anything other than the rockets. So our fearless leaderís response--War heads on foreheads, to be put in laymenís terms. You canít fight city hall--at least thatís what they used to say.
However, the true concern is all the Americans that are over there.
Could the uproar in the Middle East be the cause of what many have called a war that was bound to happen? I think that this was going to happen sooner or later.
Itís schoolyard politics. Bear with me. Ever had the fat kid in the playground that everyone picked at every now and then and suddenly, one day he decides to unload a few head shots on the opposition? Yeah, weíve all had those.
Thatís Israel. And if that analogy is too vague, may I reccomend "A Christmas Story, Scene: When Ralphy decides heís had enough of the red-headed bully picking on him.
America needs to remember that everyone doesnít handle their problems in a diplomatic way, and when terrorism is involved, hey, the gloves got to come off and you have to show these folks that youíre not going to be a victim. The sorrow for the 200 or so civlians come from the old trick of "Put the terrorists in the crowd and make them shoot us, and then say, "Look, theyíre killing innocent civilans."
Good try Hezzbollah, but itís not new.
The real problems are going on behind the scenes--Syria, Cuba, Iran..remember those guys? Iím sure you do.
I think America as a whole is trying to put their hands in too many things. We still havenít secured Iraq and now thatís yesterdayís news. Wow, 2,000 of our people have died over there and I have to wait until the B-Team anchors come on at night just to get an update.
