It seems we have a business that is being threatened by the MAGIC agenda but willing to come out of the woodwork and tell it like it is.
Finally there is at least one business that is not afraid to stand up to the political machine that has paralyzed Millinocket for the past six or seven years.
For those of you not aware, our local radio station WSYY (94.9 on your FM radio dial) has joined the foray of people who are tired of the MAGIC games.
The owner, James Talbott is conducting an anti-MAGIC campaign which airs from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on weekdays. Please don't miss it.
WSYY has been a local radio presence for over 40 years. The Talbott family has invested time and money into their station in an effort to supply our area with a media outlet.
Only recently have they run into problems and those problems seem to stem from the "Katahdin Paper, Timberlands, Forest Management "consortium" and of course let's not forget Matt Polstein. He just seems to be involved with anything negative going on in our town.
Now we all know that poor misunderstood Polstein has nothing to do with all of this.
DON'T BE FOOLED!
Esspecially since he was allowed to purchase 1450 acres on Hammond Ridge coincidentally where Talbott's WSYY had a tower. Now MAGIC (of which Polstein was an original founder and past president for 3 years and is still a member of MAGIC's board) has decided to apply for a license to set up a competing radio presence. But of course, you are to believe Polstein is an innocent victim of false accusations.
Again, DON'T BE FOOLED!
As if MAGIC hasn't already received enough money from our area and from grants, this station will be paid for with addition grant money (your tax dollars) and if this application is approved the new "MAGIC" station will broadcast, among other things, local news.
Isn't that what the two ace reporters - Shelley Farrington and Lisa Pelkey/Hayes were assigned to do. Oh yes! I forgot, they just put two papers under and are now working on a third. I guess the star reporters didn't pass muster so now MAGIC is trying another strategy by trying to put the local station out of buiness just so they can spew more of their propaganda.
Hopefully all of you citizens of Millinocket will be as angry and upset as I am and when called upon will request that the FCC deny this applicaiton.
There is strength in numbers and if we all register our complaints we can help "our" radio station survive but at the same time we can help rid ourselves of another MAGIC presence before it rears its ugly head.
