It seems we have a whole MAGIC coalition waiting in the wings to take CONTROL of the council and our town.

Let's see, there's Fanjoy, Pelkey/Hayes and also Jim Mingo.

Mingo for council? I certainly hope not.

Here we have an ex-councilor who was caught up in a brouhaha over a "boy's night out on the town". If I recall, this goes back to when Jim Kotredes was our town manager and some of the councilors attended an MMA convention and decided to treat themselves to a night out, in Portland, at of all places a "strip" joint.

I also recall reports that Mingo acted out either at the legitimate meeting, or later at the "strip" club. Mingo's story was that he didn't even look at the strippers (?) and that he paid his own expenses, drinking only fruit juice.

What would you expect him to say when these shenanigans surfaced publically? He was duty bound to save face with the Millinocket voters who elected him to represent their best interests.

As previously mentioned, Mingo has been conspicously absent from council meetings the same as Fanjoy. And like Fanjoy, the only time he has appeared, until recently, is when called upon to support Polstein, MAGIC, the Cultural Center or condos/town houses being proposed for the single-family development off Forest Avenue. Oh yes! then he MAGICally appears.

Are we now supposed to embrace a possible part-time councilor? One who attends only when it suits his purpose or the MAGIC agenda?

Mingo for Council? I think not!
