Everyone Except MAGIC Is To Blame

Another MAGIC success story bites the dust, this time in East Millinocket.

After having received a grant thru' MAGIC's efforts, but failing to get his business off the ground floor, now Patrick Day is blaming everyone except MAGIC or his own lack of business acumen.

First, it is the fault of town of East Millinocket because "town officials didn't give him all the information he needed before he purchased the building - information that ended up costing him thousands of dollars".

Then, it is the fire chief's fault because he "never said I (Day) had to do anything to the apartments before I bought the building".

And of course, it is John Friel's (previous owner) fault because "he (Friel) started a personal attack on me (Day)". Yet Friel claims he hasn't been paid since November 30th! Who is telling the truth? I sure don't know but maybe you people in East do?

Even before the closure of the Main Street Market, word on the street was that the business was doomed due to poor management. For Day to be blaming the town, the fire chief and John Friel simply does't make sense.

Instead it sounds as though this man (Day) suffers from paranoia. You know the "everyone is out to get me" syndrome.

Take a look at the town of East Millinocket. It has recently had three or four businesses open without the "help" of MAGIC. Just off hand there is Posh Salon, Creative Blooms and Red Lotus. It seems the only business having a problem is the very one that asked for MAGIC's assistance.

How surprising - but where was MAGIC when Day apparently needed help and not just grant money. Aren't these some of the very things that MAGIC, a supposed economent development organization, should have helped Day look into?

Instead of publicizing negative and derogatory reports about the town of East Millinocket, I think Day should be looking for the real culprit, MAGIC. But then maybe he was only interested in getting on MAGIC's grant/loan band wagon?

And isn't it interesting that the one business with MAGIC ties seems to be the one that has failed and is the only one spewing out negative news about East Millinocket.

Kinda makes you wonder about MAGIC!
