We've got a lot of work to do in this state, and time is a-wastin.

Admit it, you want to keep busy in a way that improves our state. You're tired of all the cheerleaders saying how great we're doing already, and conversely all the naysayers as well, who say we will never do well.

You know better.

President Kennedy inspired millions when he asked us to think about what we could do for our country rather than what our country could do for us. But now we don't trust our country (a fair percentage anyway), and for good reason. From Vietnam and Watergate to the present day, its been too many scandals bunched together. I'm not talking about distrust towards either political party specifically, but just a lot of skepticism in regard to government, and elected officials, in general.

I was born in 1965, and I really wasn't of age for any optimistic period in our nation's history, save for economic prosperity that had a lot more to do with economic well-being than an ideological vision (not that they must by nature be in conflict).

During the 2006 Governor's race, some felt I pushed a bit hard for us not to accept our second-hand status or ways, challenging others who verbalize such sentiment.

I am not judgmental, but I do expect "you" to do more. And me too. I'll work with you, As I have and wish to do.

A famous book states, "We have met the enemy, and it is us."

Well ...
